Chapter 8: Monitoring Jobs by Pipeline View

Jenkins Pipeline is a suite of plugins which supports implementing and integrating continuous delivery pipelines into Jenkins.

Pipeline View Plugin

This plugin provides a Build Pipeline View of upstream and downstream connected jobs that typically form a build pipeline.  In addition, it offers the ability to define manual triggers for jobs that require intervention prior to execution, e.g. an approval process outside of Jenkins.

You can download it here: https://wiki.jenkins.io/display/JENKINS/Build+Pipeline+Plugin

Here is a Pipeline view example for a set of connected Jobs:

Pipeline view Configuration Notes:

  1. View will be base on upstream \downstream relationships. (means all jobs should be connected by downstream)
  2. You can view the history of the pipeline by dates. (very useful to see pipeline jobs backlog)
  3. You can run the pipeline from the view !! (It will run the first job in the pipeline).
